gasp white pants!

well you know the rule, never wear white before memorial day weekend...but given that IT IS MEMORIAL DAY weekend...bring out your whites! For the longest time I've been on a hunt to find the perfect white pants, probably because white is one of the hardest colors to pull off especially white pants. Any girl brave enough to wear white pants knows that she must flaunt it because the color white has no mercy.

But the secret to wearing white pants and actually making it look flattering?? Elongate the legs by pairing them with heels, making you look as tall as possible and you're legs look like they stretch for miles. Trust me it works and I feel more comfortable (even sexy) as I tower over others. So next time you go shopping, try and find white pants with a few extra inches at the bottom so they will hit the ground perfectly with a little heel.
god bless for the hips...

feelin' flirty

maybe because I've paired two silk tank tops and added a little gold sequences...its not clubish, but its not boring...and just a little hint of shimmer or jewel goes a long way.

i think she's got it...

Or, better yet getting the hang of this dressing professionally. I feel very professional in this outfit and how could I not?? Anytime you pair a black A-line skirt (banana) with a nice fitted jacket, you're guaranteed to dress to impress and look good doing it! Kept jewelry simple today. At first I put on a black beaded necklace, but with the white shirt I took it off to try and just keep it basic.

case of the mondays

well what can you do, the work week is starting after an awesome relaxing weekend...now back to the grind. BUT memorial day is just around the corner...wore my Urban Outfitter extra long suit jacket..i love this jacket because it goes with everything and is also love the look of the rolled up sleeves. Paired with a basic stripped shirt just to make it classic but chic.

kinda reminds me...

of a picnic table...the tank top that is. Well the black and white pattern does, but when i saw this shirt during a recent consignment shopping trip, I had to have it! Paired with a black a-line skirt and went with a colored cardigan, so I wasn't too black and white. I love the long yellow bead necklace, sometimes you can shorten it by knotting the ends or loop it twice, but in this case I like how it dangles down. Just beware of elevator doors, metro doors and other traps that could be hazardous if stuck.

seattle grunge

inspired by the hometown this morning, I miss Seattle. Tight black pants, a loose plaid shirt and a long sweater vest, now all I need is an electric guitar and backup singers! You can see how the black belt ties everything together and gives you some curves...I love this look especially when you don't want to look frumpy in loose shirts.

mellow yellow

for a wednesday I'm feeling pretty blah...maybe its been the late night dinners or baseball games that have kept me up at night. But its funny how yellow can cheer anyone up, even tired me!
Skirt also from Campbell's closet (banana republic!)

linen

= Its always been a love hate relationship with me. Yes I love that linen is breezy and cool to wear on a hot summer day, but I despise having to iron the material every time I take a seat. :(
This skirt is from Campbell's closet, (thanks Pam!) who graciously gave it to me during a recent spring cleaning. The skirt is from Ann Taylor, but I have no clue from how long back when...

feel like a sailor

I've always been obsessed with stripes, but this red and white cardigan from urban outfitters ($68) has to be one of my all time favorite pieces! I just paired this with a cotton navy blue dress and sandals...perfect for spring weather or boating.
